The local Post Office is nowadays much more than somewhere you pop into for a stamp. Today's Post Office has to handle all of the expected
postal duties, as well as function as a bank, a money transfer centre, a Prize Bond Seller, parcel delivery centre and on top of all that, Dunfanaghy Post
Office has become a local centre for The Wild Atlantic Way!
Since the AIB Bank closed in the village a few years ago, numerous banking functions can now be performed at the Post Office. AIB bank customers can deposit cash into their accounts, as well as many other banking functions. Money can also be transferred around the world using Western Union, as well as Postal Money Orders.
All amenity bills can be paid in the Post Office including electric, gas, phone and cable.
UK Internet purchases can be delivered to the Post Office for collection, using AddressPal. See www.addresspal.ie for details.
And for tourists visiting the area, it is now possible to get your Wild Atlantic Way passport stamped at the Post Office.
All of these functions are performed efficiently and pleasantly by the main Post Mistress, Breid. Clever Girl!
