In Dunfanaghy village, and the surrounding area, you will find endless sporting and leisure opportunities to suit every taste, and every ability.
On the edge of the town lies the superb 18 hole Dunfanaghy links golf course, a favourite of the 2014 Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley. In the village are the AIRE approved Dunfanaghy Riding Stables, popular with riders of all levels. The village is the home of the respected St. Michael’s GAA club and home club of several of the county panel.
Every weekend you will see the Sheephaven Sub Aqua club heading off from Portnablagh pier, or snorkelling in the bay. The village is also home to not one, but two established surf centres, Jaws and Narosa.
In the Oznam community centre, Aidan Hunter runs a popular fitness gym with a range of gym classes and personal training for all levels. There are a number of places where bicycles can be hired, so you can explore the local area at a leisurely pace. Or for the more energetic, the Errigal cycling club meets in the Market Square every Sunday morning and heads to the mountains.
