BEAUTIFUL GALLERY IN A LOVELY OLD STONE BUILDING

On the outskirts of Dunfanaghy in Co Donegal, you will find the institution that is The Gallery. Housed in a building which was built in the 1840s as the Fever Hospital for Dunfanaghy, and used latterly as a National School, it’s opening in 1968 as an art gallery was the inspiration of Frank Eggington, the well known landscape artist. Since then it has been run by his daughter Moira and her husband Alan.

In The Gallery they display a vast array of traditional and contemporary oils and water colours. They are particularly proud to be able to display some of the best watercolour paintings available in Ireland. They represent many artists, some of whom have been displaying in The Gallery for over 20 years.

In the shop you will be able to experience and buy some of the very best of Irish Crafts and gifts. A wide range of hand woven rugs and throws, jewellery, books, aromatics, kid's wear, wood and pottery are presented.

These are made by nationally acclaimed artists, such as: Nicholas Mosse Pottery, Jerpoint Glass, Michael Kennedy Ceramics, Avoca, Kerry Woollen Mills ...as well as many wonderful smaller producers.

The Gallery also stocks Winson & Newton artist's materials for adults and children.
